Research Officer (Pharmacy) - #1097434

We are seeking a highly motivated research officer with experience in microbiology to work within the SGH Pharmacy Research Laboratory. The successful candidate will assist in leading research projects and initiatives that focus on bacteriophage therapy. The position involves independent bench work, lab maintenance, administrative duties as well as teaching and training of other laboratory staff. Innovative mind set, problem solving abilities, and collaboration with other scientific staff are crucial traits. The individual will be expected to oversee and guide undergraduate students and project staff.

Job Requirements

·        BSc in Biological Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or equivalent.

·        Prior lab experience and knowledge in microbiology (bacteriology) and molecular biology is strongly preferred.

·        Fundamental knowledge of microbiological kill assays and antibiotic susceptibility testing is preferred.

·        Experience in phage biology is a plus.

·       Excellent organizational and communication skills, written and oral.

·       Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.

·        Good laboratory practice.

·       Good documentation practice.
