Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to oversee all procurement activities within our shipyard. The ideal candidate will ensure the efficient sourcing of materials, services, and equipment necessary for shipbuilding and repair projects. This role requires strong negotiation skills, strategic planning abilities, and a deep understanding of the maritime industry.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and order placement.
Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to identify procurement needs and specifications.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure reliable and cost-effective sourcing.
Monitor market trends and evaluate suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards.
Conduct regular performance reviews of suppliers and implement improvements as necessary.
Ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations regarding procurement practices.
Prepare and manage procurement budgets, forecasting future needs based on project requirements.
Lead a team of procurement professionals, providing training and guidance to enhance team performance.
Qualifications:
Degree in Supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field;
Willing to relocate to Saudi Arabia for at least 2 years
Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within the shipbuilding or maritime industry.
Strong negotiation skills and a proven track record of successful contract management.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in SAP , procurement software and tools.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Knowledge of local and international procurement regulations and practices.
Fluent in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
This is an overseas role based in Saudi Arabia, successful applicants will be hired on 2 years contract
