Head of Finance, Integrated Eldercare
We are seeking a forward-thinking Head of Finance with deep experience in integrated service systems to join our leadership team. This role demands not only strong technical finance capabilities, but also the foresight to anticipate financial trends in a dynamic healthcare and eldercare landscape.
The ideal candidate will uplift the finance function by mentoring and reviewing the work of a team that is capable, honest, and ready to grow. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Head of Finance will play a key role in shaping our strategic direction and ensuring long-term financial sustainability.
This role may be structured as part-time for candidates with the right experience and alignment to our mission.
Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
Analyse, predict, and model future financial scenarios tied to healthcare and eldercare service demand, funding flows, and policy shifts.
Advise the leadership team on fiscal strategy, long-term sustainability, and financial risk management.
Guide investment planning, funding proposals, and use-of-reserves in alignment with mission and care goals.
Oversight & Team Strengthening
Supervise, review, and mentor the Finance team providing quality control and coaching.
Elevate internal financial capability and instill best practices across reporting, compliance, and controls.
Act as a bridge between operations and finance, ensuring that care delivery decisions are financially sound.
Healthcare/Eldercare-Specific Planning
Navigate sector-specific funding models, subsidies, grants, and regulatory compliance (e.g., MOH funding structures, AIC reporting).
Interpret financial performance in the light of service delivery outcomes, population health trends, and operational complexity.
Operational Reporting & Risk Oversight
Ensure accurate and timely reporting: P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and funder reports.
Prepare financial dashboards and strategic summaries for board and committee review.
Monitor financial controls, cost structures, and variances with a critical eye on mission efficiency.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CA is highly preferred)
Minimum 10 years’ progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in related industry
Strong analytical and forecasting skills with the ability to translate numbers into actionable strategy.
Proven experience supervising, mentoring, or rehabilitating finance team performance.
