As a Systems Engineer (either for system setup or application integration), you will be responsible for the end-to-end setup, configuration, and integration of complex systems across various environments. You will work closely with fellow system engineers, including the mechanical and system setup and application integration teams and collaborate with partners to ensure successful deployment of fully integrated solutions.
Your key responsibilities include:
System Installation & Configuration
Install, configure, test, and commission systems, including operating systems (e.g: Windows/UNIX), application software, system hardware, and system management toolsSystem & Hardware Integration
Lead the integration of software systems with hardware platforms such as kiosks, biometric devices, sensors, and IPCs, and ensure alignment between software configurations and physical system behaviourCross-Disciplinary Collaboration
Work closely with System Engineers (Mechanical, System, Application integration) to implement hardware designs and ensure software compatibility. Collaborate with Application Developer or software partner to validate workflows between hardware triggers and software executionSystem Testing & Validation
Conduct performance, load, and stress testing for system reliability. Troubleshoot issues and coordinate with developers, vendors, and system teams to deliver resolutionsNetwork & Infrastructure Setup
Set up the network and system infrastructure for projects, including switches, firewalls, and virtual environments. Work with infrastructure partners where necessary to co-deploy and validate configurations, ensuring full system readiness according to the solution team design approved by the ClientSystem Documentation
Create and maintain technical documentation including system setup guides, integration procedures, and configuration recordsTest Environment Support
Prepare and maintain SIT, UAT, SAT, and training environments to ensure readiness at every stage of the project lifecycle for supporting the execution of testing phases (SIT/UAT/SAT) by providing the system is stable, integrated, and ready for PM and BAAutomation & Scripting
Develop scripts or automation tasks (e.g., Shell, Python) for routine operations and auto-start configurationsHyperconverged Infrastructure & Orchestration
Support the deployment and operation of Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) (e.g., Nutanix, vSAN) and manage containerised applications using Docker and KubernetesSpecial Projects & PoC
Participate in Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives, hardware/software evaluations, and innovation projects that advance system capabilitiesAny Ad hoc duty assigned
Requirements:
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in systems installation, integration, and infrastructure setup across Windows and UNIX/Linux platforms
Hands-on experience in hardware-software integration, working alongside mechanical, application developers and solution teams to ensure cohesive system behaviour
Solid experience coordinating infrastructure setup with partners, including network, server, and virtual environments
Strong knowledge in application stack tuning (e.g., Apache, Tomcat, JBoss) and system performance optimisation
Proficient in virtualisation and hyper-converged platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, vSAN)
Skilled in containerisation and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes
Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTPS, REST APIs), security standards, and integration principles
Familiar with system hardening practices and cybersecurity compliance
Proficient in scripting or programming languages like Python, Shell Script, Java, or C#
Familiarity with Singapore Government project requirements, security frameworks, and deployment processes is preferred
Experience with Immigration or Border Control systems, biometric integration, or workflow-based solutions is an advantage
Independent, dependable, and able to work collaboratively across teams to drive successful outcomes
Willingness to travel and support on-site deployments, including overseas assignments, if required
Good verbal and written communication skills in English
