Job Responsibilities:

As a Child Protection Coordinator, you will support the Permanency Team in securing legal, physical and relational permanency in the best interests of children who require long-term out of home care.

You will assist the team with:

• Providing logistical support, statutory intervention and services to address the needs of children and young persons who have been seriously harmed or are at high risk of serious harm.

• Conducting necessary assessments, checks and screening for children and young persons who have been abused or neglected by their parents or caregivers.

• Providing services for children who need statutory guidance or care and protection because of abuse, neglect and abandonment.

• Supporting the maintenance of the Adoption Registry through which children for whom adoption is the primary permanency plan can be matched with prospective adopters.

• Having overview over a small pool of inactive cases where mainly administrative support is required.

Job Requirements:

• Degree

• Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or related discipline

• Experience in working with vulnerable children and families or with investigative experience in social service settings is an added advantage

• Able to work calmly in highly stressful situations and environment

• Be tenacious and resilient in handling difficult situations/clients

• High level of emotional resilience

• Good engagement, assessment, problem solving and multi-tasking skills

• Good analytical and critical thinking abilities

• Enjoy teamwork

• Able to work during weekends/after office hours where needed
