Overview

We are seeking a Global Retail Expansion Manager with a global perspective and strong execution skills to lead the company's retail network expansion strategy worldwide. You will oversee store location selection, design development, and trial operations in new markets. By leveraging data-driven decisions and localized innovation, you will ensure dual success in brand experience and commercial returns. You'll need to balance the "brand consistency" of Futu Group and its sub-brands with "local adaptability," acting as a key link between headquarters strategy and regional markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning and Market Insights
  • Develop a 3-5 year global retail expansion roadmap, prioritizing high-potential markets (e.g., emerging economies, strategic urban clusters);
  • Analyze macroeconomic trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape to identify store opening opportunities and risks (e.g., geopolitical, rental fluctuations);
  • Create a location assessment model, integrating GIS data, foot traffic heatmaps, and local business policies
  • Flagship and Community Store Development
  • Lead flagship store location selection (core business districts, transportation hubs), negotiate lease terms, and coordinate legal compliance;
  • Design tiered store strategies: Flagship Stores (brand beacons), Community Stores (convenient services), and Pop-up Stores (market testing);
  • Collaborate with the global design team to ensure store designs incorporate brand DNA and local cultural elements (e.g., materials, spatial storytelling)
  • Project Lifecycle Management
  • Manage the entire process from location selection to store opening, coordinating design, construction, IT, and logistics teams to meet budget and timeline goals;
  • Develop standardized toolkits (location checklists, construction templates) while supporting flexible adjustments by regional teams;
  • Utilize AR/VR technology to simulate store experiences, optimizing layout and customer journey (nice to have)
  • Cross-Cultural Collaboration and Compliance
  • Build relationships with local governments, real estate developers, and contractors to address complex issues like construction permits and environmental standards;
  • Develop localized operational guidelines (e.g., payment methods, staff training, holiday marketing);
  • Ensure projects meet ESG goals (use of renewable energy, procurement of low-carbon materials)
  • Performance Evaluation and Iteration
  • Define and monitor key metrics: Sales Per Square Foot, Foot Traffic, Opening ROI, Customer Satisfaction (NPS);
  • Regularly review projects, produce best practices, and iterate global strategies


  • Requirements

    • Work Experience:
      • Over 8 years of retail store expansion experience, with 5 years in multinational companies (retail, luxury, tech, or Finance Services related industries);
      • Successfully led flagship store projects in 3 or more countries (from inception to launch);
    • Core Skills:
      • Data Sensitivity: Proficient in using GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS), Excel modeling, and BI software (Tableau/Power BI);
      • Design Aesthetics: Understand commercial space design logic, able to review CAD drawings and provide optimization suggestions;
      • Negotiation Skills: Led major commercial real estate lease negotiations, reducing store costs;
      • Cross-Cultural Communication: Fluent in English and Mandarin, with proficiency in a third language (Japanese, Arabic, Spanish, etc. preferred);
    • Cognitive Traits:
      • Combines strategic vision with detail-oriented execution;
      • Adapts to frequent travel (willing to travel internationally as required for market assessments and store openings) and high-pressure decision-making;
      • Maintains curiosity about emerging technologies (e.g., metaverse stores, AI-driven location selection)

    Bonus Skills:

    • Possesses sustainable building certifications (e.g., LEED AP) or supply chain management experience;
    • Familiarity with retail regulations in emerging markets (EMEA, SEA , MidEast and North America);
    • Experience collaborating with brands like Apple, Nike, LVMH on expansion projects
