Virtualization Engineer | Linux Systems | AI Infrastructure - #1174479

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Virtualization Engineer to contribute to the development and optimization of core infrastructure for an AI company.

In this role, you will work on Linux virtualization and MicroVM technologies that support demanding AI workloads.This is an opportunity to take ownership of critical infrastructure components, solve complex systems engineering challenges, and contribute to the evolution of infrastructure powering next-generation AI applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize Linux virtualization platforms.
• Build and enhance MicroVM architectures and core capabilities.
• Improve VM startup performance, resource isolation, reliability, and security

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in Linux systems engineering, virtualization development, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of Linux kernel fundamentals, KVM/QEMU architecture, and virtualization technologies.
• Practical experience with MicroVM technologies such as Firecracker, Cloud Hypervisor, or Kata Containers.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Rust, or Go, with the ability to apply these skills to system debugging and performance profiling.

Nice to Have

• Experience developing large-scale virtualization infrastructure or compute platforms, particularly within cloud engineering teams.
• Knowledge of advanced virtualization techniques such as VM snapshot and restore, live migration, memory optimization, device passthrough, virtio, or vhost-user.
• Experience with AI agent sandbox infrastructure, serverless computing, or secure container technologies such as E2B and gVisor.
