Data Engineer (AWS/ Python) - #1174465

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to design, develop and maintain data pipelines, data integration solutions and database systems across Oracle and AWS environments. You will be responsible for building and optimising data processing workflows, ensuring data quality and reliability, and supporting the organisation's data management and analytics initiatives.

• Salary Package: Up to $6,500 (basic) + AWS + VB

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes to support data integration and transformation requirements.
• Develop, optimise and maintain Oracle database solutions, including SQL queries, PL/SQL scripts, stored procedures and database performance tuning.
• Leverage AWS cloud services to build, deploy and manage cloud-based data engineering solutions.
• Perform data extraction, transformation, loading and validation across multiple data sources and systems.
• Develop and maintain data integration workflows to support data migration, synchronisation and reporting requirements.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, database performance and data processing issues to ensure reliability and efficiency.
• Implement data quality checks, data validation and error-handling mechanisms to maintain data accuracy and integrity.
• Work closely with application developers, solution architects, business analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Support database optimisation, data migration and cloud modernisation initiatives.
• Ensure data solutions comply with established security, governance and operational standards.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in Data Engineering, Database Development or ETL development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle databases, including SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, functions and query optimisation.
• Practical experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-based data engineering solutions.
• Experience developing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration workflows.
• Good understanding of data modelling, database design, data warehousing and data management concepts.
• Experience with data processing, transformation, validation and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Shell scripting or similar.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with technical and business stakeholders.

Good to Have

• AWS services such as Amazon S3, AWS Glue, Lambda, Redshift, RDS and CloudWatch.
• Experience with AWS Database Migration Service (DMS).
• Exposure to Oracle Database migration or modernisation to AWS.
• Experience with Apache Spark, PySpark or other big data technologies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate or AWS Solutions Architect – Associate.
