Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) | Tunnel / Infrastructure Project | Night Shift - #1174066

Our client, an established Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) engineering contractor in Singapore, is seeking an experienced Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) to support its tunnel / infrastructure project.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing Workplace Safety & Health activities on site, identifying potential risks and ensuring project works are carried out in accordance with applicable safety requirements and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

• Identify and assess foreseeable Workplace Safety & Health risks arising from project activities.

• Recommend appropriate control measures and safe work procedures.

• Conduct risk assessments, site inspections, toolbox meetings and safety briefings.

• Monitor night-shift site activities and ensure compliance with approved safety procedures and project requirements.

• Investigate workplace incidents, identify root causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

• Support implementation and maintenance of the project WSH management system.

• Support incident reporting, emergency preparedness and contractor safety management.

• Coordinate with Project Managers, supervisors, subcontractors and workers to close safety findings.

• Promote a strong safety culture across the project site.

• Maintain relevant WSH documentation, reports and records.

• Perform other project safety duties as assigned.

• Relevant Workplace Safety & Health qualification.

• Relevant WSH experience within construction, engineering or project environments.

• MOM-registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) preferred.

• Experience progressing through roles such as WSH Supervisor / WSH Coordinator / WSH Officer will be advantageous.

• Experience in tunnel, underground, infrastructure, M&E or major construction projects will be advantageous.

• Strong knowledge of risk assessment, incident investigation, site inspections and safe work procedures.

• Good understanding of Workplace Safety & Health compliance requirements.

• Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.

• Able to work independently in a project-site environment.

• Must be comfortable working night shift on a 6-day work week.
