Restaurant Service Staff - #1174046

We are seeking energetic, hardworking and customer-oriented Restaurant Service Staff to join our busy Indian restaurant in Little India, Singapore.

The ideal candidate must be a versatile, hands-on all-rounder with excellent customer service, communication and order-taking skills. The successful candidate must be willing to actively participate in all aspects of restaurant service, including customer engagement, food serving, cashiering, cleaning and general restaurant operations.

This role requires an individual who can work efficiently in a highly demanding, fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent service standards and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Order Taking

• Welcome and attend to customers in a friendly, professional and courteous manner.

• Take customer orders accurately and efficiently using the restaurant's POS system.

• Explain menu items, recommend dishes and assist customers with food selections.

• Actively promote restaurant specialities, set meals, beverages and promotional offers.

• Demonstrate good upselling and persuasive selling skills to increase sales.

• Handle customer enquiries, special requests and feedback professionally.

• Ensure customers receive prompt, attentive and efficient service.

Food & Beverage Service

• Serve food and beverages accurately and promptly.

• Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of customer orders.

• Set up dining tables, clear used plates and prepare tables for incoming customers.

• Assist with takeaway orders, food packing and delivery platform orders.

• Support buffet service, catering orders and special restaurant events when required.

• Ensure food presentation and service standards are consistently maintained.

Restaurant Operations & Housekeeping

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of dining areas, tables, chairs, service counters and common areas.

• Perform opening and closing duties, including cleaning, preparation and replenishment of service items.

• Assist with cashiering, payment collection and POS transactions when assigned.

• Monitor and replenish cutlery, crockery, condiments, takeaway packaging and other service supplies.

• Assist with stock checking, inventory handling and basic restaurant maintenance.

• Comply with food hygiene, workplace safety and restaurant operating procedures.

Teamwork & Operational Support

• Work closely with restaurant managers, supervisors and kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations.

• Handle multiple customer orders efficiently during busy lunch and dinner periods.

• Be flexible and willing to undertake different service and operational duties as required.

• Support colleagues during peak hours and maintain a positive team environment.

• Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and contribute to customer satisfaction.

• Previous experience in restaurant service, preferably in an Indian restaurant or busy F&B environment.

• Good knowledge of Indian cuisine, particularly South Indian and North Indian dishes, is advantageous.

• Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to take orders accurately and confidently recommend menu items.

• Basic knowledge of POS systems, cashiering and payment handling is advantageous.

• Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.

• Physically capable of performing duties involving prolonged standing, walking and food service.

• Willingness to perform cleaning, table clearing, food packing and other restaurant duties.

• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays according to operational requirements.

• Hardworking, responsible, punctual, disciplined and customer-focused.

• Positive attitude with a strong willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
