Trade Operations Executive (Agricultural Commodities) - #1173997

Role Overview

We are seeking a Trade Operations Executive to manage the execution of physical agricultural commodity contracts. The successful candidate will coordinate shipments, documentation and payments, ensuring deliveries meet contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage trade execution from contract confirmation through to delivery and settlement.

• Review contracts for quantities, specifications, shipment periods and payment terms.

• Coordinate with suppliers, buyers, shipping companies, freight forwarders and inspection agencies.

• Monitor shipment schedules and resolve delays or operational discrepancies.

• Prepare and review shipping documents, including bills of lading, invoices and certificates.

• Coordinate documentary submissions and letter of credit requirements with finance teams.

• Track inventory, delivery quantities and outstanding contractual commitments.

• Handle quality or quantity discrepancies and support claims resolution.

• Maintain transaction records and provide shipment and payment updates.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade or a related discipline.

• 2 to 3 years of experience in commodity trade operations or shipping coordination.

• Exposure to grains, oilseeds, sugar, coffee, cocoa or other agricultural commodities would be advantageous.

• Familiarity with Incoterms, shipping documentation and letters of credit.

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

• Able to manage multiple shipments and meet deadlines.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with trading or ERP systems is an advantage.
