Senior Systems Engineer (Appian, JBoss, RHEL, J2EE, Root Cause Analysis) - #1172952

Responsibilities

• Design, enhance and maintain enterprise applications using Appian, ensuring solutions meet functional and technical requirements.
• Develop and optimise SQL/PL/SQL queries, database procedures and related components to support reliable application processing.
• Manage application deployment activities across development, testing and production environments, following established release procedures.
• Investigate application defects, perform root-cause analysis and implement effective fixes to maintain system stability.
• Provide application and production support, monitor system performance, and manage incidents through appropriate service management processes.
• Administer and support Linux/RHEL environments, including application-level troubleshooting and operational checks.
• Monitor and maintain application-server environments involving JBoss and Apache to ensure availability and performance.
• Develop and maintain Java/J2EE components and support application integration through APIs and related interfaces.
• Coordinate integrations between Appian applications, databases and external systems to ensure accurate data exchange.
• Support Agile/Scrum delivery activities, collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows to improve release consistency and operational efficiency.
• Prepare technical documentation, deployment records and support updates in accordance with project and operational standards.

Requirements

• 15+ years of relevant experience in systems engineering, enterprise application development, application support or related technical roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Appian application development, configuration and maintenance.
• Experience in SQL/PL/SQL, including query development, optimisation and database programming.
• Hands-on experience in Linux/RHEL operating systems and enterprise application environments.
• Experience in managing application deployments and release activities across multiple environments.
• Experience in troubleshoot application issues, analyse root causes and resolve software defects.
• Experience in providing application support and production support, including incident investigation and resolution.
• Experience in JBoss and Apache application-server.
• Experience developing or maintaining Java/J2EE components and integrating applications through APIs or other interfaces.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies and collaborative software delivery practices.
• Experience in CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and technical documentation skills.
