CONSTRUCTION MANAGER - #1172856

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Construction Manager to oversee and manage construction projects from planning through to completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for site operations, project coordination, manpower and resource planning, subcontractor management, quality control and workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee daily construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on time and according to approved specifications.

• Plan and coordinate construction activities, work sequences, manpower, materials, equipment and site logistics.

• Monitor project progress, productivity, quality and overall site performance.

• Supervise and coordinate site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and workers.

• Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, engineers, suppliers and subcontractors to resolve site issues.

• Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, method statements and work programmes.

• Monitor subcontractors' performance and ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings and requirements.

• Identify potential delays, technical issues and resource constraints and implement appropriate corrective actions.

• Ensure compliance with Singapore's building regulations, WSH requirements, approved risk assessments and method statements.

• Conduct site inspections and attend project, coordination and progress meetings.

• Monitor manpower, material usage, equipment and project resources effectively.

• Ensure proper project documentation, site records, progress reports and handover documents are maintained.

• Assist in project cost control, variation works and procurement activities where required.

• Ensure quality workmanship and minimise rework, wastage and construction defects.

• Lead the project team towards successful completion and handover of the project.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building or a related discipline.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Singapore's building and construction industry.

• Candidates with 5–10 years or more of Construction Manager / Project Manager / Senior Site Manager experience will be highly considered.

• Proven experience managing construction projects and site teams.

• Good knowledge of Singapore construction practices, BCA requirements and Workplace Safety & Health regulations.

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, project planning and site coordination.

• Able to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and method statements.

• Strong leadership, communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, project scheduling and reporting.

• Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.

• Relevant safety qualifications will be an advantage.

Salary

Salary will be negotiable, depending on the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, skills and suitability for the position.
