Key Responsibilities

• Conduct independent credit assessments for SME clients by analysing financial statements, business performance, repayment conduct and overall risk exposure.

• Review and assess various types of lending proposals to determine creditworthiness and associated risks.

• Analyse key financial indicators including cash flow, leverage, profitability, liquidity and debt servicing capability.

• Assess industry, business and customer specific risks and identify potential early warning indicators.

• Review credit reports and relevant financial information to support informed lending decisions.

• Evaluate customer creditworthiness for both new onboarding and continued business relationships.

• Review and validate credit documentation and financial information to ensure accuracy, completeness and timely processing.

• Review customer information from sources such as CBES, ACRA and existing loan repayment conduct as part of the bank's credit risk assessment framework.

• Ensure credit proposals and supporting documentation comply with internal policies, approval authorities, regulatory requirements and risk management frameworks.

• Collaborate closely with Relationship Managers to understand client requirements and structure credit facilities that are aligned with business needs and the bank's risk appetite.

• Verify credit reviews and risk assessments for different types of lending proposals.

• Identify and escalate exceptions, policy deviations and material credit risks to the appropriate approval authorities.

Key Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline.

• 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in credit assessment, credit underwriting, credit risk, SME lending or banking operations.

• Experience in assessing unsecured lending and credit card applications will be advantageous.

• Strong understanding of financial analysis, including cash flow, leverage, profitability, liquidity and debt servicing capacity.

• Familiarity with CBES, ACRA, credit bureau reports and repayment conduct analysis.

• Good understanding of KYC, credit risk management, internal credit policies and regulatory requirements in Singapore.

• Strong attention to detail, particularly when reviewing credit documentation and financial information.

• Good stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively with Relationship Managers and business teams.

• Ability to manage multiple credit applications and meet turnaround time requirements.
