This Senior Business Application Analyst position sits within the Market Risk systems program, covering VaR, IRC calculations, daily PnL production and attribution, risk consolidation and regulatory reporting, as well as Prudent Valuation calculations and adjustments ensuring the firm's trading book exposures are measured conservatively and in full compliance with applicable capital and valuation standards.

Main Responsibilities

Functional Knowledge & Analysis

• Own and maintain deep functional knowledge of Market Risk applications
• Liaise with Front Office, Risk Managers, Quantitative Analysts, and IT stakeholders to gather, clarify, and document business requirements
• Analyze the functional impact of changes in coordination with the technical lead, considering system and architectural constraints
• Prepare, present, and document functional specifications and user stories in JIRA, aligned with business needs and regulatory requirements
• Support the development team on functional matters and maintain up-to-date functional documentation
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of risk consolidation workflows, regulatory reporting processes, and market data management within a Banking environment

Functional Testing

• Define and own the test strategy in coordination with the Application Manager
• ·Conduct continuous testing in development environments; write functional unit and system test cases and maintain test artefacts throughout the project lifecycle
• Coordinate UAT prioritization with the Project Manager and support production deployments through post-deployment validation checks

Application Support – Functional Incidents

• Provide Level 2 functional support for incidents escalated from Level 1
• Reproduce, analyze, and investigate functional issues related to risk calculations and market data
• Resolve functional problems in coordination with developers and perform ad hoc simulations and impact analyses for Front Office users

Qualifications andProfile

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Systems Analysis, or related discipline
• 10+ years of experience as a Senior Business Analyst within the Market Risk department of a Banking industry with hands-on expertise across VaR, IRC, PnL calculations, risk consolidation, regulatory reporting, and Prudent Valuation
• Strong technical grounding in data models and SQL, with the ability to perform ad hoc data analysis and impact simulations for Front Office users
• Proven experience acting as the functional liaison between Front Office, Risk Managers, Quantitative Analysts, and IT stakeholders — bridging onshore business lines and offshore technical teams as the primary functional point of contact
• Extensive experience in requirements gathering, drafting detailed functional specifications and user stories in JIRA, and presenting functional changes to development teams in line with FRTB, Basel III/IV, and CRR/EBA regulatory frameworks
• Thorough experience in functional testing and validation, including writing unit test cases, maintaining test artefacts, coordinating UAT, and performing post-deployment production checks to ensure the integrity of risk outputs
• Demonstrated experience in Level 2 application support, including issue reproduction, root cause analysis, and resolution of calculation and data discrepancies in collaboration with developers
• Practical experience leveraging AI-powered tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, generative AI assistants) to enhance productivity and problem-solving
• Solid understanding of AI/ML fundamentals, including prompt engineering, model limitations, and best practices for human-AI collaboration
• Experience evaluating AI-generated outputs for accuracy, security, and alignment with business requirements
• Ability to identify and implement opportunities for AI integration and workflow automation
