M&E Engineer - #1171261

We are seeking a qualified and experienced M&E Engineer to support the planning, coordination and execution of mechanical and electrical works for a major hospital development project in Singapore. The successful candidate will work closely with the M&E Manager, consultants, subcontractors and site teams to ensure that M&E works are carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, coordination and supervision of M&E works at the project site.
• Review and interpret M&E drawings, specifications, shop drawings and technical documents.
• Coordinate mechanical, electrical and building services works with structural, architectural and other disciplines.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and specialist contractors on M&E-related matters.
• Monitor M&E installation works and ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, workmanship and quality of M&E works.
• Coordinate RFIs, technical queries, material submissions and shop drawing submissions.
• Monitor M&E work progress against the approved construction programme and report potential delays or issues.
• Assist in coordinating manpower, materials, equipment and work sequencing for M&E activities.
• Assist with inspections, testing and commissioning of M&E systems.
• Coordinate with relevant consultants and authorities for inspections, testing and approval requirements.
• Identify site coordination issues and assist in implementing appropriate solutions.
• Maintain proper records of site inspections, progress, testing, commissioning and other M&E activities.
• Assist in the preparation of progress reports, technical reports and project documentation.
• Coordinate M&E requirements for testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing and project handover.
• Ensure compliance with project safety, quality and environmental requirements.
• Perform other M&E-related duties as assigned by the M&E Manager or Project Management Team.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant M&E experience in building or construction projects.
• Prior experience in hospital or healthcare projects is preferred.
• Experience in M&E installation, coordination, inspection, testing and commissioning.
• Good knowledge of mechanical, electrical and building services systems, including ACMV, electrical distribution, plumbing & sanitary and fire protection systems.
• Ability to read and interpret M&E drawings, specifications and technical documents.
• Familiarity with relevant Singapore codes, standards and statutory requirements.
• Experience coordinating with consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Good understanding of construction site practices, quality control and safety requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD and relevant M&E software will be an advantage.
• Strong communication, coordination, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
