Cafe Cook - #1171236

Kemuri Coffee Co. is a specialty café located in Tanjong Pagar. We are looking for a Cafe Cook to support the preparation and service of our food menu in a clean, efficient and consistent manner.

The role involves preparing café-style food items, maintaining kitchen standards, managing ingredients and supporting the daily operations of the café.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook café food items according to Kemuri Coffee Co.'s recipes and presentation standards
• Prepare ingredients and carry out daily mise en place
• Prepare items such as sandwiches, toasties, waffles and other café dishes
• Ensure food is prepared consistently in terms of quality, portion and presentation
• Manage food orders during service and ensure timely preparation
• Monitor ingredient levels and inform management when replenishment is required
• Receive, store and rotate ingredients using FIFO practices
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and food preparation areas
• Ensure proper food storage, temperature control and hygiene practices
• Follow SFA food safety and hygiene requirements
• Minimise food wastage and assist with portion and inventory control
• Clean kitchen equipment, utensils and work areas after use
• Assist with the development and testing of new café menu items when required
• Support other café operational duties during quieter periods when necessary

Requirements

• Previous experience in a café, restaurant, bakery or similar F&B environment is preferred
• Basic cooking and food preparation skills
• Able to work independently in a small kitchen environment
• Able to follow recipes and maintain consistent food quality
• Good understanding of kitchen cleanliness and food hygiene
• Organised, responsible and able to work efficiently during busy periods
• Able to work weekends and public holidays according to roster
• Food Safety Course Level 1 certification preferred; training can be arranged where applicable

We are looking for someone who is reliable, clean, organised and consistent. Kemuri operates a relatively focused café menu, so this role is less about complicated restaurant cooking and more about executing simple food exceptionally well and maintaining a well-run kitchen.
