Shipbrokers act as intermediaries between two parties in the shipping industry.
We are now looking for a Sale and Purchase Broker to join our vibrant business, based in our Singapore office.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of S&P (Singapore) based in Singapore, you will work alongside colleagues in our Singapore and Atlantic/Pacific region to gain exposure to the full shipping Sale and Purchase markets.
Job Responsibilities
Grow sales and purchase brokering business
- Analyse market data to identify business opportunities and understand global trading patterns and supply and demand of ships
- Evaluate recommendations for potential ship sale and purchase opportunities
Client accounts support
- Manage contracts with ship owners and brokers
- Manage issues arising from servicing client accounts
- Manage information exchange with clients
- Maintain relationships with clients
Sales and purchase brokering operations
- Negotiate the terms and finalise details of sales and purchases of ships and contracts
- Postfixture operations until successful delivery
Education, Experience and Skills
The ideal candidate should be a dedicated and diligent team player who is focused with strong attention to detail. With critical thinking skills, you will recognise the value of precision and nuance as much as productivity.
You should have:
- A commercial/business degree or an associated shipping qualification.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent numeracy skills and the ability to analyse and present market data.
- Minimum 3 years of shipping related experience with at least 2 year of experience in S&P shipbroking.
- In-depth understanding of the shipping industry, good knowledge of ships and their owners.
