Job Summary

The Household Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of a private household, including household administration, staff supervision, facilities maintenance, procurement, travel arrangements, and household documentation to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage household schedules, appointments, bills, payments, records, errands, and other administrative tasks to ensure timely and accurate household operations.
• Supervise and coordinate household staff by planning work schedules, managing manpower, and overseeing daily routines.
• Monitor household inventory levels and arrange replenishment of essential supplies.
• Coordinate and oversee maintenance, repairs, cleaning, pest control, renovation works, and other facilities-related activities.
• Liaise with building management, landlords, contractors, vendors, and service providers on household operational requirements.
• Source vendors and household items by obtaining quotations, preparing comparisons, and coordinating purchases, deliveries, and installations.
• Support household events, private functions, travel arrangements, transportation, accommodation, and related logistics.
• Maintain household records, including vendor lists, maintenance history, equipment manuals, inventory lists, SOPs, and operational checklists.
• Ensure the residence meets appropriate standards of cleanliness, safety, functionality, and presentation.
• Perform other ad-hoc household and personal support duties as required.

Preferred Competencies and Qualifications

• Experience as a Household Manager, Estate Manager, Personal Assistant, Butler, or similar role in a private household or service environment.
• Experience supervising household staff and coordinating contractors, vendors, and service providers.
• Strong organisational, coordination, problem-solving, and follow-up skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while maintaining discretion and professionalism.
• Hands-on, resourceful, service-oriented, and adaptable to changing household requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively in Mandarin and read and write Chinese, as the role requires regular communication with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders and handling Chinese-language instructions, correspondence, and documentation
