Job Purpose

Situated within the Platforms Team of Product Engineering, this role is responsible for investigative systems analysis for the development of IB Enterprise systems with integration and data impact in mind. This team is responsible for building and supporting Enterprise integration platforms that relies on IB CRM Master Data, controlled vocabularies and offers identity management services for systems across the organization

The Systems Analyst identifies business and user requirements and communicates those requirements to the internal and external application teams and project teams in a language that is technically clear and functionally accurate. Technical expertise and knowledge will be fundamental to ensure that the System Analyst is able to drive impact assessment discussions with the teams.

This role requires a seasoned IT professional who can engage businesses and users, determine complex business requirements, investigate technical impacts, then interpret and translate those requirements into precise application development specifications. Understanding of the master data and knowledge of how the downstream systems depends on this data will be the crucial contribution of the role for successful implementations and smooth operations of the new and existing IT services.

This post requires extensive liaison with IT, Product Engineering and Product Management teams, 3rd party suppliers, and end-users IB wide. This post has a deep understanding of CRM Data and Identity Data & Process Flows in order to understand the impact of integration works done by the Platforms team and ensure clear communication is maintained with other teams to ensure the integration platforms evolve over time to support the organizational wide initiatives.

Key Accountabilities

Analysis and Design

· Identify and analyse technological developments, functional demands and organizational requirements and translate these into concepts and designs.

· Attend or drive workshops and technical meetings providing technical analysis and input.

· Review and feedback on high level and detailed requirements.

· Technical analysis and expertise for new & existing technologies, providing technical estimates, recommendations and solutions, including estimated costs.

· Input on NFRs (Non-Functional Requirements).

· Systems analysis for business requirements based on approved architecture design.

Technical Product Backlog Management

· Work with the team to build and maintain the technical product backlog based on the outcomes of the gap analysis works, issues reported or technical lifecycle management works.

· Work with the requesting teams to capture the business or technical requirements and ensure that these information are incorporated into the Platforms team’s product backlog.

Documentation and reporting

· Develop and maintain documentation on specifications and design according to standards and ensure filing / storing of relevant documentation in agreed central repositories.

Troubleshooting

· Investigate and analyse technical IT incidents and problems, develop technical solutions and secure knowledge gathered from troubleshooting cases to create the necessary means and methods for the future.

· Provide technical support for the multiple vendor development teams for assessment applications.

· Liaise with infrastructure, security and architecture teams along with vendors, to select development / debugging / UX tools and technologies etc.

· Resolve technical queries.

Utilize technical experience

· Utilize technical and business experience to guide and advise other team members (internal and offshore) and represent the department effectively in inter-departmental meetings.

· Disseminate knowledge and experience effectively (enabling team members to perform optimally), whilst ensuring that the wider interests of the department are understood and represented in all communications.

· Review and approve solutions, development and documentation of changes and development performed by globally distributed teams and 3rd parties, where applicable.

Develop trends knowledge

· Maintain and develop knowledge of trends and developments in information technology and within the organization, to ensure that the department is aware of opportunities to improve its standards and working practices, along with moving forward with the future technologies invested in by the organization.

Knowledge and Experience

· IT related degree or equivalent experience in an IT discipline.

· The ability to gain a deep understanding of business requirements and systems organization wide, whilst understanding the implications of decisions made within IT development.

· Strong knowledge of trends and technologies in systems development and the ability to identify and recommend opportunities for the use of new or alternative approaches which will be of benefit to the organization.

· Extensive systems development knowledge with experience in web application and database development in a range of technologies.

· Hands-on experience with business requirements gathering / analysis.

· Sound knowledge of relational databases and mass data storage concepts.

· Experience of delivering major software projects in all aspects of the development lifecycle.

· Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to chair meetings, make presentations, and to communicate complex technical issues using simple and clear language.

· Experience working with and supporting globally distributed teams.

· Experience working closely with 3rd party suppliers, ensuring delivery of 3rd party systems.

· Awareness of trends and directions in technology.

Technical and Soft Skills

· Extensive systems development experience using Microsoft .NET and related technologies. Exposure to Microservice architecture, message broker systems, API services are highly valued though not mandatory.

· Good technical experience in Azure is highly preferred; either through development or analysis works.

· Must have good proficiency with querying and analyzing data in Microsoft SQL or other similar rational database systems

· Extensive systems analysis knowledge with experience in creating user stories and creation of appropriate technical documentation.

· Experience working with Agile methodologies would be highly preferred
