The Methodist Church in Singapore (MCS) is a connectional church comprising the General Conference, three Annual Conferences, local churches, and various agencies and organisations. The General Conference (GC) is the highest body of the MCS, responsible for legislation, policy, and the overseeing of its various agencies, including the programme agencies responsible for education, missions, and welfare services.

About the Role
The Methodist Church in Singapore (MCS) is seeking a highly organised, mature and service-oriented Personal Assistant to the Bishop to provide executive and administrative support to the Bishop and the Bishop’s Office.
This is a trusted position that requires excellent organisational skills, discretion and professionalism. The successful candidate will work closely with the Bishop and liaise with senior leaders, clergy, churches, committees, councils and external organisations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive executive and administrative support to the Bishop and the Bishop’s Office.
- Manage the Bishop’s calendar, appointments, meetings, engagements and key deadlines.
- Coordinate local and overseas travel arrangements, including flights, accommodation, transportation, visas, itineraries and related documentation.
- Coordinate the Bishop’s preaching, teaching, speaking engagements, meetings, conferences, webinars and official events.
- Provide administrative and coordination support to councils and committees chaired by the Bishop, as well as other MCS committees and affiliated organisations.
- Prepare and coordinate official correspondence, reports, presentations, meeting materials and other documents.
- Liaise with internal departments, Annual Conferences, churches, clergy, schools, agencies and external organisations to coordinate matters relating to the Bishop.
- Assist with the preparation and monitoring of the Bishop’s Office and General Conference budgets.
- Process the Bishop’s claims, reimbursements, travel expenses and other administrative matters.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with a high level of discretion and professionalism.
- Support selected clergy and staff-related administrative and pastoral care arrangements.
- Provide support for major MCS events and other activities involving the Bishop, including occasional work outside normal office hours when required.
Requirements
- Diploma, Degree or professional qualification in Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a Personal Assistant, Executive Assistant, Secretary or similar role.
- Strong command of English and Chinese, both written and spoken.
- Excellent organisational, coordination and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Able to manage multiple priorities, work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, clergy, staff and external parties.
- Mature, responsible, service-oriented and approachable.
- High level of integrity and discretion, with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
- Willing to work outside normal working hours when required
