Events Assistant - #1169321
JTA CONSULTANCY
Events Assistant | Events Crew (Post-Exams Intake) | Event Operations & Professional Growth (Closing Soon)
Event Operations | Professional Development | Hands-On Experience
Great events don’t happen by accident. They come together when people pay attention to the details, communicate well, respond quickly, and work together to make sure every part of the experience runs smoothly.
As an Events Assistant, you’ll be part of the team behind professional live events — helping with everything from preparing the venue and welcoming guests to coordinating activities on the ground and responding when things don’t go according to plan.
This role is suited to those exploring events, hospitality, marketing, business operations, or other people-focused careers, as well as anyone looking to develop strong workplace skills through practical experience.
Role Focus
As an Events Assistant, you’ll play an active role in bringing live events together from preparation through to completion.
You’ll work closely with the events team to prepare venues, coordinate guests, support event activities, and respond to the needs of the team and attendees throughout the event.
You’ll learn to anticipate what needs to happen next, step in when support is needed, and take responsibility for helping the event run smoothly.
What You'll Do
- Welcome guests, manage registrations, and provide a professional and positive first point of contact.
- Support ushering, seating, crowd flow, and guest enquiries to ensure attendees feel comfortable and well looked after.
- Assist with venue setup, teardown, equipment, materials, and other preparations needed to get events ready.
- Coordinate with team members throughout the event to keep schedules, activities, and logistics running smoothly.
- Monitor what is happening on the ground and respond quickly when plans or priorities change.
- Help resolve basic operational issues and escalate matters appropriately when additional support is needed.
- Work closely with the team to ensure no important detail is overlooked before, during, or after an event.
- Contribute to a welcoming and well-organised environment by supporting both guests and teammates wherever help is needed.
- Assist with basic event photography and short-form video content where required for marketing and event documentation.
What You'll Gain
- First-hand experience supporting professional live events from preparation to completion.
- Practical understanding of event operations, logistics, guest management, and on-site coordination.
- Stronger communication, teamwork, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
- Greater confidence interacting with different people in fast-paced professional environments.
- Experience learning how to stay adaptable and make sound decisions when circumstances change.
- Opportunities to work alongside experienced professionals, speakers, and industry stakeholders.
- A stronger understanding of how preparation, teamwork, and execution come together to deliver successful events.
- Mentorship and guidance from experienced team members who are invested in your development.
- Valuable experience to strengthen your résumé and prepare you for future opportunities in events, hospitality, marketing, business operations, and client-facing roles.
- A strong foundation for developing the confidence, initiative, and professionalism needed in any career.
