Responsibilities

• Collect, review, and validate qualification documents from logistics service providers, including carriers and freight forwarders.
• Support supplier evaluation, onboarding, and contract negotiation for logistics services.
• Act as the main point of contact for daily coordination with logistics suppliers.
• Manage and execute shipment bookings for North America trades.
• Track shipment movements, monitor order status, and proactively update internal stakeholders on key logistics milestones.
• Verify cargo insurance coverage and ensure accuracy of logistics cost invoices.
• Identify, assess, and manage risks related to North America logistics operations.
• Resolve operational issues such as equipment shortages, booking discrepancies, and service disruptions.
• Lead follow-up and processing of cargo insurance claims when required.
• Review shipping documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare and submit payment requests to the finance team.
• Track draft Bills of Lading, coordinate confirmations, and ensure timely release of original documents upon payment.
• Collect and analyse logistics and market intelligence for renewable resources products in North America.
• Provide data-driven insights to support business planning and strategic decisions.
• Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain with minimum 3 years of experience in logistics or freight forwarding within a commodities trading environment; metals trading experience is an added advantage.
• Proven working network with ship agencies, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and cargo insurance providers.
• Strong knowledge of major North American ports and their operating environments.
• Solid understanding of end-to-end logistics operations, including inland trucking and ocean freight (FCL).
• Familiarity with ocean freight markets, chartering and booking processes, and shipping documentation.
• Demonstrated experience in logistics cost verification, risk management, and issue resolution.
• Strong communication, coordination, and negotiation skills.
