Job Summary

Our client, a leading global logistics organisation, is seeking an Assistant Manager, Operations to lead warehouse and logistics operations, drive operational excellence initiatives, and oversee vendor and stakeholder management activities. This role is ideal for candidates with strong leadership capabilities and experience in managing large-scale logistics and warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily logistics, warehousing, transportation, and customer service operations to ensure smooth process flow.

• Develop and implement strategies to improve inbound and outbound logistics processes, enhance operational efficiency, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, waste reduction programmes, and safety enhancement activities.

• Manage third-party vendors, including transport providers and labour agencies, to ensure service level agreement (SLA) compliance.

• Monitor and control daily operating costs, including manpower planning, overtime approvals, and operational expenditures.

• Lead recruitment, performance management, and development of supervisory and executive-level staff.

• Oversee annual stock takes, inventory discrepancy investigations, cargo damage claims, and disposal approvals.

• Conduct root cause analysis for operational issues and implement corrective actions.

• Build strong customer relationships and effectively manage escalations and conflict resolution.

• Support operational transformation and continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or equivalent disciplines.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience, with at least 2–3 years in people management and leadership roles.

• Strong experience in warehouse operations, logistics management, and customer service environments.

• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with experience conducting deep-dive root cause analysis.

• Strong vendor management and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

• Able to work effectively under pressure and manage tight delivery timelines and volume surges.

• Forklift/VNA licences and Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) certifications will be advantageous.
