About the role
We are seeking an Assistant Manager, Operations to join Capital Human Resource Management Pte. Ltd in the West Region. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in supporting our operations management team within the warehousing, storage and distribution sector. The Assistant Manager, Operations will be responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day operational activities, optimising warehouse efficiency, and maintaining high standards of service delivery. This role offers the opportunity to develop your management capabilities whilst contributing directly to the success of our logistics operations.
What you'll be doing
Overseeing daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing and dispatch of goods
Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating stock movements to ensure optimal warehouse utilisation
Supervising and supporting warehouse staff to maintain productivity targets and safety standards
Implementing and maintaining standard operating procedures and best practices across warehouse operations
Identifying operational inefficiencies and recommending process improvements to enhance productivity
Liaising with logistics coordinators, transport teams and customers to ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment
Maintaining health and safety compliance and conducting regular safety audits
Preparing operational reports and analysing key performance indicators to track performance metrics
Managing warehouse budget allocations and controlling operational expenses
Training and mentoring junior staff members to develop their skills and capabilities
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or equivalent qualification
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics or a similar operational environment
Proven experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within a warehousing or distribution centre
Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software
Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel for data analysis and reporting
Sound understanding of health, safety and environmental regulations relevant to warehousing operations
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively
Outstanding problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to operational challenges
Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies is advantageous
Certification in Logistics, Supply Chain or related field is a plus
