About the role

We are seeking a Trader - Natural Rubber to join REDX PTE LTD in a full-time capacity. Based at our Woodlands Regional Center in the North Region, this is an exciting opportunity to develop and drive new business opportunities within the natural rubber trading sector. As a Trader, you will play a crucial role in identifying, pursuing, and closing new business deals, whilst building and maintaining key relationships with clients and suppliers. This position is essential to our company's growth strategy and offers significant scope for impact within the commodities trading industry.

What you'll be doing

1. Identifying and sourcing new business opportunities in the natural rubber market, such as Cuplump and TRS

2. Developing and implementing strategies to win new clients and expand market share

3. Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, buyers, and industry partners

4. Negotiating and closing commercial deals, ensuring profitability and risk management

5. Analyzing market trends, pricing dynamics, and competitive landscape to inform trading decisions

6. Managing the complete sales pipeline from lead generation through to contract execution and delivery

7. Preparing proposals, quotations, and trading documentation

8. Collaborating with logistics, operations, and finance teams to ensure smooth transaction execution

9. Monitoring market conditions and commodity prices to optimize trading opportunities

10. Reporting on business development activities and providing forecasts on the new business pipeline

11. Participate in overseas supplier visits, business reviews, and stakeholder meetings to strengthen supplier partnerships and support procurement objectives

12. Maintain sales records, sales documentation, and ERP master data

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience ( Min 4 years ) in commodities trading, specifically in natural rubber or similar agricultural/commodity markets

2. Demonstrated track record of successfully identifying and closing new business deals

3. Strong understanding of natural rubber market dynamics, pricing mechanisms, and global supply chains

4. Excellent negotiation and commercial acumen skills

5. Ability to build and cultivate relationships with diverse stakeholders, including traders, suppliers and end-buyers

6. Proficiency in market analysis and risk assessment

7. Proficiency with trading platforms, market data systems, and CRM tools

8. Self-motivated with a results-driven approach and ability to work independently

9. Diploma or degree in Commerce, Marketing, Business, or a related field

10. Familiarity with import/export regulations and trade documentation is preferred

11. Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems is advantageous

12. Must be comfortable working with regional stakeholders and traveling overseas for customer visits and business meetings, approximately 40% of the time
