About the Role

We are a well-established Metal Works company seeking a responsible and detail-oriented Purchaser to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing metal materials, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely procurement to support our project operations while maintaining cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Source and procure metal materials and related products for ongoing projects.

• Obtain and compare quotations from multiple suppliers to achieve the best value in terms of price, quality, and delivery.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate competitive pricing and delivery terms.

• Coordinate closely with project/site teams to understand material requirements and delivery schedules.

• Arrange transportation, collection, and delivery of materials.

• Monitor delivery timelines and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time supply.

• Coordinate with workshop and site personnel to ensure smooth receipt of materials.

• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.

• Identify opportunities to reduce procurement costs while maintaining quality and timely delivery.

About you

• Relevant experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operations.

• Experience in the Metal Works, steel fabrication, construction, or related industry is preferred.

• Basic knowledge of metal materials and industry products is an advantage.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with suppliers, project teams, and site personnel.

• Good negotiation, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

• Meticulous, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
