About the role
Job requires passion for welding and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on customer experiences. Need to work in close collaboration with Sales & Marketing team to identify, develop and prioritise key customer opportunities, assisting in development of solution value-based presentations and to create differentiated value in key market segments.
Key responsibilities
Serve as product expert driving welding process recommendations.
Apply process, product, and technical expertise to provide training & technical support for channel partners and end-users.
Internal liaison with sales & marketing teams relative to competitive positioning (value proposition); innovation opportunities, voice of customer needs.
Manage Welding Technical centre's day to day activities like generating welding procedure development, Productivity comparison analysis, new product developments.
Keep Safe working environment in the technical centre.
Work with overseas factories to evaluate the filler metals & welding equipment as per customer needs.
Visit end users for conducting discovery work, trainings, Demo & troubleshooting for the products.
Communicate with the end customer via phone/emails/visits to stay informed technical requirements of ongoing & upcoming projects.
Support Sales & Marketing team on day-to-day activities & customer inquiries.
Assist to develop, validate and execute the conversion to ITW solution that will deliver value to the customers.
About you
Diploma or bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in welding field.
In-depth technical understanding of welding products, equipment, and consumables.
Technically conversant with Welding Codes such as ASME Sec 9, B31.3, AWS D1.1, DNV fabrication & type approval codes, EN ISO welding codes.
Hands on welding ability; Well conversant with the latest welding & automation technologies.
Ability to communicate and build relationships with key decision makers and influencers with excellent presentation skills to support the conversion process.
Must be a self-starter, have a strong desire to succeed, be an excellent team player, and possess the ability to make independent decisions based on all data available with follow through to completion.
Up to 40% travel required around SEA countries.
