Objectives of the position:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Assurance & Testing Engineer to join our team, focusing on electrical cable testing & qualification. The QA Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our electric cable products and components. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our electrical cables meet international standards, able to interpret international cable standards, operate laboratory testing equipment, managing compliance with RoHS and REACH regulations, issuing ISIR test reports, maintaining equipment calibration to uphold high-quality standards. The successful candidate will be involved in quality assurance and quality control processes, supporting the senior QA Engineer in type testing, NPI product testing & qualification, generate type test specifications, update status in SAP & release inspection lots. The position also includes handling Customer’s technical enquiries and compliance related to cable products meeting industry standards or Customer standard. The person must have a Quality mindset ensuring highest Quality in cable products, including effective communication with suppliers, factories and Customers and maintain good working relationship with all stakeholders.
Knowledge in electrical cable testing or Electrical &Electronic (E&E) product testing experience is required for this position. An experience in SAP QM Module will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
Testing & qualification of cable products & accessories
Interpret international cable standard such as IEC, EN, UL, VDE etc. To establish type test specifications (TTS)
Perform dimensional, visual, electrical & mechanical testing on electric cables and accessories, using standard testing equipment to verify product quality and conformity
Issue ISIR test reports / type test reports as per cable standards
Update the result in SAP / product type testing log
Perform product audit by reviewing type test reports from suppliers / factories
Summarize testing status for monthly reporting
Track & maintain approved product Quality:
Conduct routine product audit by performing type testing to ensure product continue to meet the requirements
Generate Supplier Corrective Action Requests (CAR) and track corrective actions by liaising with the supplier if issues related to product compliance are reported (ISIR)
Compliance with Standards:
Familiarize with and comply with international cable testing standards and procedures
Ensure product compliance to RoHS, REACH, CE or other environmental & specific compliance required by Customers. Include supplier monitoring for the subject.
Contribute to achieving company and department KPIs through due diligence, duty of care, and personal accountability for quality assurance in all tasks
Assist in maintaining relevant ISO standards (9001, 14001 & 45001)
Liaise with Stakeholders:
Effectively communication with relevant stakeholders
Maintain Records:
Maintain records in SAP and ensuring relevant information is recorded and stored properly
Operate Laboratory Test Equipment:
Operate laboratory test equipment (calliper, vision cable pro, tensile machine, IR test, HV test etc.) safely
Ensure equipment are calibrated, properly stored and ready to use
Assist with Customer Technical Enquiries:
Assist Customers in product testing requirements, technical enquiries and compliance requirements
General Assistance /Others:
Assist in other day-to-day activities related to the QA department as assigned by your superior
Skills & Qualification:
Min. Diploma /Degree in Engineering (Electronics / Electrical) or equivalent
Min. 2 years of experience in electrical / electronic product testing and qualification
Prior experience in E&E product testing or operating lab equipment is required
Good written and communication skills in English
Good communication and maintain good relationship with Customers and other departments
Proficient in Microsoft Words, Excel & Power point
Knowledge in electrical cable test standard will be added advantage
Prior experience in SAP system experience especially in QM module will be an added advantage
Quality mindset and addresses present issues immediately and independently
Responsible & accountable for product testing, qualification and release
Possess self-confident and willing to share opinions and expertise in discussions (NPI)
Anticipate potential problems and takes action to avoid crisis
Provide support to colleagues in the Department and work as a team to achieve Department goals and targets
