Mechanical Design Engineer - #1163990

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical & Design Support

· Review customer specifications, drawings and technical documents for mechanical design

· Prepare and submit engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Solidworks for Customer approval

· Revise and amend drawings based on feedback from customers, consultants, project teams or production requirements

· Ensure design accuracy, manufacturability and compliance with project specifications

· Prepare fabrication drawings, assembly drawings and shop drawings for production and site installation

· Support design improvements and engineering modifications during project execution

2. Project & Construction Site Coordination

· Liaise with customers, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers on technical matters

· Coordinate with production and project teams to ensure drawings and specifications are properly executed

· Attend construction site meetings, site surveys and technical discussions when required

· Conduct site measurements and verify actual site conditions before fabrication and installation

· Support site installation activities and resolve technical issues at construction sites

· Coordinate with supervisors and installation team to ensure work is carried out according to approved drawings

· Monitor project progress and provide engineering support for ongoing site activities

3. Quotation & Costing

· Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) based on project scope and drawings

· Prepare material take-off and costing for fabrication and construction works

· Review vendor technical proposals

· Follow up with customers on technical clarifications and requirements

4. Quality Assurance & Compliance

· Ensure all engineering and fabrication works comply with company quality standards and project specifications

· Support implementation of quality management system (QMS) procedures

· Perform QA/QC checks on fabrication and installation works

· Ensure compliance with ISO standards, safety regulations and site requirements

· Assist in preparation of inspection reports and project documentation

5. Documentation Control

· Maintain proper records of drawings, revisions, technical drawings and approvals

· Ensure all engineering documents are updated and properly filed

· Prepare method statements, technical submissions and related project documentation

· Coordinate document submissions to customers, consultant and etc.

6. Production & Fabrication Support

· Support production team in fabrication and assembly processes

· Assist in resolving production and technical issues

· Ensure products are fabricated according to approved drawings and specifications

· Coordinate with production team on fabrication schedules and technical requirements

7. Product & Project Scope

· Involved in design and support of mechanical structure products, including:

Skid platform, Form hose reel, enclosures and panels, bicycle racks, battery racks, construction structural works

Important Highlight

1. Candidate must have experience in construction

2. preferable in structural (not in machining/precision/tooling)
