About the role

Resident Engineer responsible for carrying out inspection and supervising Contractor's works to ensure the desired standard of material, workmanships, quality control of all building works (Civil / Structural/ Geo-technical and Architectural works) are satisfactorily achieved due diligently.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out standing supervision for the installation of permanent structural works which include but not limited to pile installation, pile load test, Ground anchor, soil nails, rock bolts installation, post tensioning works, pre-stressing, load stressing, concreting etc.

• Keep and maintain at the premises documents, books and records on which the building works are carried out pursuance with section 9(4)(d) of the Building Control Regulations 2003

• Check and tally all drawings and specifications and ensure the latest copies are kept in the site office and used at all times

• Resolve site problems raised by the Contractor and seek QP / Consultants' consent on the solution if necessary

• Liaise with Specialist contractor & Contractor on the geotechnical instrumentation installation & monitor for ERSS / project works

• Review contractor's submission, work method statement and work demonstrations & ensure Contractor obtained approval from the Consultants prior to the execution of work on site

• Attend regular site meeting and report the site progress and the site issues

• Prepare, maintain and submit a monthly site progress report

• Monitor and report on the work progress and highlight to the S.O / Employer's attention on any delay by the Contractor

• Observe and highlight any unsafe work practice on site and ensure remedy action is taken by Contractor

About you

• Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering accredited by the Commissioner of Building Control and accepted by Institute of Engineer Singapore (IES) / Association of Consulting Engineers Singapore (ACES)

• Minimum 4 years relevant experience as a civil engineer, in which 2 years' experience in supervision of works similar in nature to works

• Registered with IES as an accredited Resident Engineer

• Good report writing skill

• Well versed in Microsoft Office
