Our client, a well-known company is looking for candidates for the position of Senior Vessel Operator / Assistant Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor schedules and itineraries of vessels, preparing for events like loading and discharging.

• Manage Time Charter hire revenue, addressing claims or disputes raised by charterers.

• Approve and monitor budgets prepared by technical managers for assigned vessels, ensuring operational and financial performance meets targets.

• Review voyage orders or requests, ensuring compliance with Time Charter Parties and effective negotiation with charterers as needed.

• Coordinate with insurance underwriters for Hull & Machinery and/or Protection & Indemnity insurance in the event of incidents, managing communications and legal requirements related to claims.

• Conduct vessel inspections to assess maintenance and condition from a commercial perspective.

• Report regularly to headquarters or partners involved in joint ventures.

• Perform additional ad-hoc duties, including compliance preparation for maritime regulations and fleet insurance renewals.

REQUIREMENTS

• Relevant experience in the Shipping Industry or Commodity Trading, with a minimum of 3 years in positions involving:
  - Time Charter Parties, Voyage Charter Parties, Bills of Lading, or Agency Agreements.
  - Freight trading and chartering of vessels for various cargoes.

• Basic knowledge of accounting and finance is preferable.

• Willingness to expand expertise and develop both business and technical shipping knowledge.
