About the role

We are seeking a skilled communicator to facilitate effective interactions between Japanese and English-speaking staff within a vibrant manufacturing environment. This role is essential for ensuring seamless communication and enhancing workplace harmony.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a liaison between Japanese-speaking and English-speaking personnel to ensure effective cross-cultural communication

• Guide cultural differences and workplace practices to foster inclusivity

• Create, translate, proofread, and maintain bilingual documentation (English & Japanese), including production reports, safety guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

• Ensure the accuracy, clarity, and consistency of all documentation

• Collaborate closely with various departments, including Production, Technical, Quality, and Finance, providing interpretation and coordination during meetings

• Offer language assistance and conduct basic Japanese language lessons as needed

• Manage and maintain data using Excel spreadsheets and assist in administrative tasks, including organizing recreational activities and events

• Provide general reception and administrative support

About you

• Minimum of a Diploma; a Bachelor's Degree in translation, language studies, or a related field is preferred

• Relevant experience in translation and interpretation, preferably within a manufacturing context

• Proficient in delivering swift and accurate translation and interpretation services in both office and field environments

• Excellent organizational and time management abilities to manage multiple responsibilities

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in translation work, with a focus on cultural sensitivity in communications

• Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and discretion in all interactions

• Eagerness to learn new terminology and industry-specific jargon to stay current with manufacturing advancements

• Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative team-oriented mindset

• Proficient in Japanese to communicate with Japan HQ and Japanese speaking counterparts, facilitating accurate translation and interpretation in both English and Japanese
