Backend Developer (Kotlin / Node.js) - #1162562

About the Role

We are looking for a Backend Developer with experience in Kotlin and Node.js to join our engineering team. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing backend services, APIs, and system integrations for our gaming platform.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building scalable backend systems, solving technical challenges, and working in a fast-paced development environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Kotlin.

• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices.

• Develop backend applications and supporting services using Node.js.

• Integrate with third-party APIs, payment gateways, and external systems.

• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues.

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

• Collaborate closely with frontend developers, QA engineers, DevOps, and product managers.

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to system architecture discussions.

• Continuously improve code quality, development processes, and system performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• 3+ years of backend development experience.

• Strong proficiency in Kotlin.

• Experience developing backend services with Node.js.

• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices.

• Familiarity with frameworks such as Ktor or Spring Boot (Kotlin) and Express.js, NestJS, or similar Node.js frameworks.

• Experience with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis).

• Familiarity with Git, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Good understanding of software design principles and backend architecture.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in an Agile environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Experience with Kubernetes or Docker containerization.

• Knowledge of event-driven architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).

• Experience in the gaming, fintech, or high-traffic internet industry.

• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or ELK.
