About the role
Precise Development Pte Ltd is seeking a Work Site Health and Safety Officer (WSHO) to join our team on a full-time basis in the West Region. This is a critical leadership position responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and environmental compliance across all our construction operations. As WSHO, you will play a vital role in protecting our workforce, maintaining regulatory compliance, and fostering a strong safety culture across the organisation. This position reports directly to senior management and has strategic importance in minimising risks, reducing incidents, and ensuring all sites operate in accordance with health and safety legislation.
Key responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures across all construction sites and operational areas
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, documenting findings and implementing corrective and preventive actions
Provide health and safety training and induction programmes to all employees, contractors, and site personnel
Manage safety documentation, records, and reporting requirements, including incident reports and regulatory submissions
Liaise with regulatory authorities, site managers, and project teams to ensure adherence to all statutory requirements and best practices
Monitor and manage the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure proper maintenance of safety equipment
Develop and deliver toolbox talks, safety campaigns, and awareness initiatives to promote a positive safety culture
Maintain emergency response plans and ensure staff competency in emergency procedures
Review and update risk assessments for construction activities and methodologies
What we're looking for
Professional qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent recognised certification)
Minimum 5 years' experience as a Health and Safety Officer or similar role within the construction industry
Comprehensive knowledge of construction health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry standards relevant to Singapore
Proven experience in hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation
Strong understanding of work site safety protocols, including work at heights, confined spaces, and heavy machinery operations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of personnel
Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver training programmes and safety awareness initiatives
Proficiency in documentation, record-keeping, and health and safety management systems
Problem-solving capabilities and a proactive approach to hazard prevention
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet compliance deadlines
A valid driving licence would be advantageous for site visits across the West Region
