About the role
Dong Jian (Singapore) Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team. This is a full-time position based in the Springleaf North Region. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a critical role in managing project costs, budgets, and financial controls throughout the construction lifecycle. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on budget and on time, whilst maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and professionalism. This position is integral to our project delivery success and directly impacts our reputation and profitability.
Key responsibilities
Preparing accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation for construction projects
Managing project budgets and financial controls, monitoring expenditure and preparing regular cost reports
Conducting cost analysis and value engineering studies to identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality
Negotiating contracts and agreements with suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers
Preparing and processing variation orders, claims, and change orders in accordance with contract terms
Conducting valuations of work completed and preparing interim and final payment certificates
Maintaining detailed cost records and financial documentation throughout the project lifecycle
Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure financial objectives are met
Preparing tender recommendations and cost feasibility studies for new projects
Assisting in risk assessment and identifying potential cost overruns
What we're looking for
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline from a recognised institution
Professional qualification such as AIQS (Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors), RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), or equivalent
Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry
Proven experience in cost estimation, budget management, and financial control on construction projects
Strong knowledge of construction contracts, including fixed price, cost-plus, and design-build arrangements
Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office applications
Excellent analytical and numerical skills with meticulous attention to detail
Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
Knowledge of Singapore construction industry practices and building regulations is advantageous
Bilingual in English and Mandarin, able to communicate with Chinese clients
