Role Overview
The Performance Account Manager is a hybrid role blending hands-on technical Ad Operations with strategic Client Relationship Management. You will not just manage client expectations and brief internal teams, you will be directly responsible for launching, managing, and optimizing multi-channel paid ad campaigns (Google, Meta, TikTok, Programmatic) to hit client KPIs. Beyond day-to-day performance, you will own client retention and proactively identify gaps in client strategies to upsell additional services that drive mutual business growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Hands-On Ad Operations & Media Buying
Campaign Setup & Management: Directly build, launch, and manage multi-channel paid advertising campaigns across Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager, and Programmatic platforms.
Daily Optimization: Conduct ongoing hands-on optimizations (bidding, audience targeting, budget reallocation, and A/B creative testing) to maximize campaign efficiency and ROI/ROAS.
Technical Tracking: Ensure correct implementation of tracking pixels, custom conversions, and UTM parameters across all active channels.
2. Client Management & Account Growth
Relationship Ownership: Serve as the main day-to-day point of contact, managing client expectations by aligning campaign performance with their business briefs.
Retention & Upselling: Proactively monitor account health to ensure high client retention. Identify strategic gaps in the client’s current digital footprint and propose/upsell additional agency services (e.g., content creation, SEO, alternative media channels) to fill those gaps.
Multidisciplinary Briefing: Translate client briefs into concrete technical setups for yourself, and clear, actionable creative/content briefs for internal copywriters and designers to conceptualize winning key visuals.
3. Digital and Customer Research
Market & Industry Analysis: Conduct in-depth research on market, industry, and customer trends across digital channels to identify strategic opportunities for optimizing digital initiatives.
Behavioral Analysis: Perform comprehensive customer behavior analysis across digital engagement platforms to derive actionable insights that drive digital growth.
Persona Development: Identify potential customer segments and personas to drive precise targeting and personalization within paid media strategies.
4. Digital Performance Tracking
KPI Monitoring-Monitor and track key digital performance KPIs across media channels and digital campaigns, including website traffic quality, lead generation, conversion rates, cost-per-acquisition (CPA), and return-on-investment (ROI).
Dashboard Management-Develop and manage automated dashboards (utilizing Excel, Looker Studio, etc) to provide stakeholders with real-time, transparent visibility into digital performance.
Campaign Optimization-Collaborate closely with relevant internal stakeholders to optimize digital campaign messaging, channel effectiveness, media spending, and creative content based on performance data.
4. Data, Insights & Reporting
Data Evaluation-Utilize Google Analytics, Digital Ad Platforms, Social Listening, Consumption Analytics to evaluate digital campaign performance, providing actionable and data-proven insights to drive efficiency and continuous optimization.
Strategic Recommendations-Transform analytical findings into clear, actionable business recommendations to maximize digital performance, target audience engagement, lead generation, and customer conversion rates.
Post-Campaign Evaluation-Lead post-campaign evaluations to measure the effectiveness of digital marketing and creative strategies against established benchmarks and business objectives.
Stakeholder Presentation-Prepare comprehensive Digital Performance reports and presentations to communicate insights supporting digital strategy development, decision-making, and business planning for clients.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: 2–4 years of digital agency experience, explicitly combining hands-on Ad Operations / Media Buying with client-facing account management.
Platform Expertise: Deep, hands-on proficiency in Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager, Programmatic Ads are non-negotiable. Experience with DSPs/Programmatic platforms is highly preferred.
Commercial Acumen: Proven track record of client retention and a natural ability to spot commercial opportunities for account growth and upselling.
Tools: Advanced proficiency in Google Analytics (GA4), Excel
Mindset: Highly analytical, data-driven, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where you own both the strategy and the execution.
