Job Description
Responsible for overall ownership, maintenance, and performance improvement of semiconductor etch equipment (e.g., Trymax and Axcelis systems) to ensure high tool availability, stability, and manufacturing output.
The role involves managing equipment uptime, troubleshooting complex technical issues, leading preventive and corrective maintenance activities, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance OEE, yield, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Own assigned equipment and ensure optimal performance (OEE, MTBF, MTTR).
Perform preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting (electrical, mechanical, vacuum, RF, gas, and software systems).
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and drive permanent solutions for chronic equipment issues.
Support equipment installation, upgrades, chamber swaps, and process qualifications.
Collaborate with process and manufacturing teams to ensure equipment supports yield and product quality requirements.
Develop and maintain maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, and equipment documentation.
Drive continuous improvement, cost reduction, and spare parts optimization initiatives.
Supervise vendor activities during major repairs, upgrades, and tool rebuilds.
Ensure compliance with safety, EHS, and cleanroom standards.
Provide technical training and support to technicians and junior engineers.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in semiconductor etch area, with familiarity in etch equipment such as Trymax and Axcelis systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of SPC, FMEA, and 8D problem-solving methodologies.
