The Discipline Support Officer (DSO) plays a student-facing role focused on maintaining discipline, safety, and order within the school environment. The position supports the Student Management team by handling behavioural cases, supervising students, and reinforcing school rules both during and outside of class.

Monday 07:30 – 17:00
Tuesday 07:30 – 17:00
Wednesday 08:00 – 17:30
Thursday 07:30 – 17:00
Friday 07:30 – 16:30
(1 hour lunch break)
Contract Period: From 1 August 2026 to 31 December 2027. (17 months)
Responsibilities
Student Behavior Management and Case Support
Support the review and management of student behavioural incidents and disciplinary matters.
Gather relevant information through interviews, observations, and fact-finding activities.
Prepare clear and accurate incident reports and maintain case documentation.
Liaise with students, parents, and school staff regarding behavioural matters and follow-up actions.
Student Supervision and School Safety
Conduct regular supervision of school premises and designated areas.
Monitor student conduct during recess, dismissal, and other non-classroom periods.
Promote adherence to school rules and behavioural expectations.
Support the maintenance of a safe and orderly school environment.
Student Development and Intervention Support
Supervise detention and other student intervention programmes.
Engage students constructively to encourage positive behavioural change and personal responsibility.
Maintain attendance and behavioural records and follow up as required.
Support students assigned to in-school suspension or other structured interventions.
Administrative and Operational Support
Provide frontline support by attending to enquiries from students, parents, and visitors.
Handle phone calls, messages, and routine correspondence.
Perform administrative duties including data entry, record management, and report preparation.
Support school operations during school holidays and undertake other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in student management, youth engagement, education, community services, security operations, investigations, compliance, customer-facing roles, or other related fields involving stakeholder engagement, supervision, conflict management, or case handling.
Candidates with transferable skills and relevant experience from other industries are encouraged to apply.
Ability to remain calm, professional, and respectful when managing challenging situations involving students.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, school staff, and other stakeholders.
Good judgment, integrity, and the ability to handle sensitive information appropriately.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, email communication, data entry, and digital collaboration tools.
Able to maintain accurate records and prepare basic reports.
