About the role
We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join STAR 360 in the Central Region on a full-time basis. This is a strategic position within our finance department, responsible for overseeing financial operations, planning, and analysis for our retail and wholesale business divisions. As Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving financial performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing valuable financial insights to support business decision-making at all levels of the organisation.
Key responsibilities
Manage and oversee the day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management
Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports, cash flow planning and reports
Develop and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and financial plans aligned with business objectives
Conduct financial analysis and variance reporting to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost optimisation
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal financial policies and procedures
Manage relationships with external auditors and support audit processes
Supervise and mentor finance team members, providing guidance and professional development opportunities
Implement and maintain effective internal controls and financial systems to safeguard company assets
Support strategic planning by providing financial data and insights to senior management
Liaise with operational teams across retail and wholesale divisions to understand business needs and provide financial support
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent recognised credential
Minimum of 5-7 years' experience as a Finance Manager in retail and/or wholesale industries
Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, management accounting, and financial reporting standards
Proficiency with accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders
Leadership experience with the ability to manage, develop, and motivate finance teams
Sound understanding of retail and wholesale business operations, supply chain finance, and inventory management
Demonstrated commitment to accuracy, attention to detail, and maintaining confidentiality
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
