About the role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join STAR 360 in the Central Region on a full-time basis. This is a strategic position within our finance department, responsible for overseeing financial operations, planning, and analysis for our retail and wholesale business divisions. As Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving financial performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing valuable financial insights to support business decision-making at all levels of the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management

• Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports, cash flow planning and reports

• Develop and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and financial plans aligned with business objectives

• Conduct financial analysis and variance reporting to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost optimisation

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal financial policies and procedures

• Manage relationships with external auditors and support audit processes

• Supervise and mentor finance team members, providing guidance and professional development opportunities

• Implement and maintain effective internal controls and financial systems to safeguard company assets

• Support strategic planning by providing financial data and insights to senior management

• Liaise with operational teams across retail and wholesale divisions to understand business needs and provide financial support

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent recognised credential

• Minimum of 5-7 years' experience as a Finance Manager in retail and/or wholesale industries

• Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, management accounting, and financial reporting standards

• Proficiency with accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data

• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders

• Leadership experience with the ability to manage, develop, and motivate finance teams

• Sound understanding of retail and wholesale business operations, supply chain finance, and inventory management

• Demonstrated commitment to accuracy, attention to detail, and maintaining confidentiality

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
