About the Role
Our client, a Japan firm, is seeking an experienced and people-oriented junior HR Business Partner (Generalist) to oversee the HR operations and strategic projects for their Singapore headquarters. Reporting to the HR lead, this role will play a key part in shaping culture, driving engagement, and supporting business objectives. Total employee size: 200+ in Singapore.
You will lead day-to-day HR functions — from recruitment, performance management, handling employee relations and employee engagement. You will be working in a HR team of 4 with each member being a specialist of the HR pillars so this is a individual contributor role.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, independent, and enjoys working in a fast-paced and productive workplace environment.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations & Business Partnering
Deliver end-to-end HR operational support and business partnering to local business units, ensuring smooth execution of HR processes and alignment with organisational policies.
Manage full-cycle recruitment for non-managerial roles, including job postings, agency coordination, candidate screening, interview facilitation, and selection.
Support the administration and execution of key HR frameworks, including performance management, learning & development programmes, and employee engagement initiatives.
Coordinate and support HR projects and initiatives, ensuring timely implementation and effective communication across stakeholders.
Provide day-to-day HR advisory support to employees and line managers on operational HR matters, ensuring consistency and compliance with company policies and local regulations.
Prepare and analyse HR data, reports, and metrics to support decision-making and improve HR effectiveness.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders on sustainability-related HR initiatives and programmes
Regional HR Operations Support (overseas country)
Provide dedicated HR operational support for regional subsidiaries
Manage payroll administration and taxation matters for local employees and expatriates, including coordination with relevant stakeholders and auditors. *(Training will be provided)*
Support annual salary review and promotion exercises, including data preparation and process coordination.
Requirements
Degree in Human Resources or related discipline
At least 4–7 years of HR generalist experience, with exposure to operational HR.
Strong working knowledge of the Singapore Employment Act and HR best practices
High level of initiative, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
Strong interpersonal and communication skills — able to engage across all levels
Positive, proactive, and people-first mindset
