About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accounts Executive to join VIRGO LAMINATES PTE. LTD. in a full-time capacity based in the Sungei Kadut North Region. This is a pivotal position within our Financial Accounting & Reporting function, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decision-making. The Senior Accounts Executive will be responsible for overseeing key accounting operations and contributing to the financial health and transparency of the organisation.

Key responsibilities

1. Prepare, review and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers and journals in compliance with accounting standards and company policies

2. Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate posting

3. Conduct bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure cash management accuracy

4. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports for management and external stakeholders

5. Support the audit process by preparing documentation, schedules and reconciliations for both internal and external auditors

6. Monitor and control fixed assets, including recording acquisitions, disposals and depreciation calculations

7. Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures and internal controls

8. Liaise with external parties including banks, tax authorities and auditors to resolve accounting matters

9. Provide financial analysis and reporting to support management decision-making and business planning

10. Mentor and support junior accounting staff, providing guidance on accounting procedures and best practices

What we're looking for

1. Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline

2. 5-7 years of experience in accounting roles, preferably in a manufacturing or trading environment

3. Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting

4. Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards

5. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines

6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve accounting issues

7. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments

8. Knowledge of tax compliance and payroll processing is advantageous

9. Professional accounting qualifications (ACCA, CA, CPA) or progress towards such qualifications would be highly valued
