About the Role

The Assistant Manager supports the planning and implementation of refurbishment projects within a healthcare environment. This role focuses on project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and the establishment of project management systems to ensure refurbishment initiatives are delivered effectively and in line with organizational standards.

The incumbent will work closely with senior leadership to plan and execute refurbishment projects that support capacity building and clinical service planning across multiple healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Support the procurement of consultancy and construction packages in accordance with organizational standards

  • Review and approve project schedules, construction methodologies, material submissions, and permits to work during the construction phase

  • Develop and implement project governance policies, processes, and tools

  • Oversee and manage consultants and contractors to ensure services are delivered according to contract terms

Stakeholder Management

  • Develop and execute communication plans to ensure timely stakeholder engagement

  • Communicate project updates, milestones, risks, and challenges clearly to stakeholders

  • Collaborate with leadership to align redevelopment initiatives with organizational goals and strategies

  • Engage stakeholders to conduct feasibility studies for renovation and redevelopment projects

Key Requirements

  • Degree in Architecture, Building, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in public sector or healthcare infrastructure projects

  • Proven experience managing refurbishment projects

  • Strong technical and project management capabilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in:

    • AutoCAD

    • Microsoft Office

    • Microsoft Project

  • Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and SketchUp is an advantage

  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills

  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects concurrently
