Data Center Network Service Engineer

5 days a week general shift including weekends/Public holiday.

We are looking for a skilled Network Service Engineer to monitor and maintain interconnectivity network infrastructure within our data center environment. The role ensures minimal network downtime and customer service impact by proactively managing incidents, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating with internal and external providers when necessary.

• Monitor network infrastructure and manage incidents within agreed SLAs, OLAs, and KPIs.

• Diagnose and resolve network issues promptly, ensuring timely updates in ticketing systems.

• Liaise with external suppliers and internal teams to minimize disruption and downtime.

• Stay current with emerging network technologies supported by the NOC.

• Degree in Telecommunications or equivalent industry experience.

• Professional certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA, or Optical Associate/Foundation (preferred).

• Proven experience in a Network Operations Center or Managed Services environment (Data/Voice, Telecoms, ISP, or Cloud).

• Experience in data center (co-location) environments is advantageous.

• Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools and trouble-ticketing systems.

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals, LAN/WAN troubleshooting, and cabling in co-location setups.

• Working knowledge of IP/MPLS networks (Juniper MX Series desirable).

• Experience with Optical Ethernet and Transport Networks (Ciena 6500 and Waveserver AI desirable).

• Solid understanding of routing principles.

• Familiarity with VMware, Linux-based systems, and cloud connectivity services (Azure ExpressRoute, AWS Direct Connect, Google Cloud Interconnect).

• Scripting knowledge in Python or experience with Ansible automation tools is a plus.
