Assistant Manager – GPLC / MPS Commercial & Marine Parts Business - #1133477

Role Purpose

The Assistant Manager will be responsible for overseeing the commercial and sales functions of the GPLC and MPS (Marine & Power Solutions) departments, with a particular focus on managing quotes and pricing for GPLC warehouse operations. This role involves responding to customer inquiries, preparing competitive and accurate quotations for Marine Parts Business and GPLC warehouse services, managing vendor relations, ensuring profitability, and contributing to business growth.

Key Responsibilities

A. Commercial & Sales Responsibilities

• Lead Commercial & Sales Functions for the Marine Parts Business and MPS customers.
• Manage the Request for Quotation (RFQ) and pricing requests from both DSV/GPLC Global Network and local customers.
• Conduct cost analysis and develop competitive quotations for warehouse operations, project cargo, and Marine Parts services.
• Analyze customer requirements and propose the best logistics/warehouse solutions.
• Develop new business opportunities and expand revenue from existing customers.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with key customers through regular performance reviews and strategic meetings.

B. GPLC Warehouse Pricing & Tender Management

• Lead the pricing process for GPLC warehouse operations, including storage, handling, value-added services (VAS), and other warehouse services.
• Prepare cost-based quotations considering Capex, Opex, labor structure, and other operational costs.
• Obtain vendor quotations, validate supplier costs, and ensure cost efficiency.
• Manage and oversee responses to large tenders (RFPs), ensuring compliance with internal approval processes.
• Maintain pricing governance to ensure competitive and profitable margins in all quotes.

C. Coordination & Internal Alignment

• Collaborate with internal teams, such as Operations, Procurement, Finance, HSE, to align on customer needs and cost structures.
• Work closely with the warehouse operations team to customize solutions based on customer requirements.
• Coordinate with DSV’s global network to confirm overseas requirements and associated costs.
• Manage sales data, including pipeline forecasting, tracking, and reporting.
• Oversee KPI performance related to commercial/sales functions.

Requirements

A. Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (preferred).
• 3-7 years of experience in project logistics, warehouse operations, or Marine-related industries.
• Proven experience in Pricing, Tender Management, and Commercial Sales is required.

B. Skills & Expertise

• Strong cost estimation and pricing calculation skills (Warehouse / Transport / Project Cargo).
• Solid understanding of Marine Parts and MPS industries.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both with suppliers and customers.
• Proficient in MS Excel, Power BI, and understanding of SAP/TMS/WMS systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.

C. Other Requirements

• Strong sense of responsibility and a quick response capability.
• Fluent in English with strong business communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate complex projects and manage multiple tasks in fast-paced environments.
