Associate / Medical Lab Technologist (Contract) - #1133446

Job Scope:

• Receive and assess laboratory specimens, rejecting those that do not meet suitability criteria for analysis.

• Prepare reagents and materials requiring special handling to ensure test reliability and accuracy.

• Utilize the Laboratory Information System for functions including result queries, order entry, and result documentation.

• Conduct moderate complexity tests in compliance with established laboratory protocols.

• Immediately notify relevant laboratory personnel of any critical test values.

• Escalate any adverse incidents to senior staff members for appropriate action.

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on laboratory instruments and report malfunctions to designated personnel.

• Stay up to date with evolving techniques, procedures, and equipment by attending workshops, seminars, and training sessions.

• Demonstrate laboratory procedures to trainees and new staff.

• Guide Laboratory Technicians, Clerical Staff and Health Attendants in their work when required.

• Ad hoc duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• A recognized Diploma or Degree in Biomedical / Biological / Life Sciences or equivalent

• Relevant experience in clinical lab setting will be an advantage

• Good communication and interpersonal skills
