Job Title: Coating Inspector

Working Hours: Mon to Thurs 0800-1715, Fri 0800-1630, Sat 0800-1130, Sun 0800-1715
Salary Range: SGD 3,000 – 5,000/month
Employment Type: 12 Months Contract / Full-Time
Key Responsibilities
Witness prequalification of painting system, Painter Blaster and adhesion testing subjected for project approval before commencement of' painting activity.
Check and inspect in-coming painting/coating materials (e.g. paints, Thinners, Abrasives etc) conditions, Data sheet and Batch certificates in accordance with project.
Inspect correct type of blasting equipment and tools to be used to meet the paint quality according to the paint specification.
Inspect pre-cleaning or solvent cleaning of surface.
Inspect metal surface imperfection/defects.
Check surface profile of blast cleaned surface using right inspection tools.
Assess surface cleanliness soluble salt contamination on blast-cleaned surface.
Prepare painting related test such as pull-off test & reports.
Prepare blasting and painting inspection reports.
Able to handle painting inspections in blasting and painting inspection of tank coatings, ship hull painting, and structural items.
Send Request for inspection (RFI) to third party and client paint inspectors on hold point and witness point as per project inspection test plan (ITP).
Liaise with owner to solve any problem found in quality of work.
Able to send enquiries to Paint manufacturers for Painting Specification in accordance with project Requirements and Secure Quality document for painting; Inspection & Test plan, blasting and Painting procedure.
Ensure Calibration certificates of painting Instruments are valid & available for reference.
Inspect coating material storage conditions.
Supervise the workplace and workers safety.
Ensure coating is practical and in accordance with the specified requirements by preparing or reviewing drawings, Specification, Job instruction and material selection notes etc.
Job Requirements
Inspector shall be certified/ Registered by an independent third-party association, such as the Association of Materials Protection and Performance. AMPP certified coating Inspector (NACE) or other recognized certification societies and a minimum level 2.
Able to work onboard vessels or in confined spaces.
Ability to work shifts, overtime, weekends, and public holidays as required.
Tools:
Must be able to operate and maintain inspection tools such as:Telescope Inspection Mirror.
DFT gauge.
Basic Camera.
Portable Handheld flashlight with fireproof.
PPE: Must provide and maintain own basic PPE (e.g., helmet, gloves, safety shoes, eye protection).
