Key Responsibilities
Technical & Execution
Supervise hull and structural repairs on jack-up rigs, including legs, spud cans, chords, braces, racks, jacking systems structures, decks, and pontoons.
Interpret structural drawings, repair sketches, class-approved methods, and NDT requirements.
Plan steel renewal, insert plate replacement, cropping, alignment, and fit-up activities.
Control dimensional accuracy, tolerances, and alignment during structural works.
Project & Coordination
Coordinate with Piping, Mechanical, Electrical, Painting, and Scaffolding teams.
Liaise with Client, Class (ABS/DNV/LR), and third-party surveyors for inspections and approvals.
Monitor progress, manpower, material availability, and work fronts.
Resolve on-site technical issues, clashes, and access constraints.
Quality Control
Ensure works comply with approved ITPs, WPS, PQR, class rules, and project specifications.
Supervise welding, NDT (UT, MT, PT, RT), dimensional checks, and close-out inspections.
Ensure proper documentation of steel renewal records, weld maps, and as-built drawings.
Safety & Compliance
Enforce shipyard HSE rules and offshore structural safety standards.
Conduct toolbox talks, risk assessments, and permit-to-work compliance.
Ensure safe execution of hot work, working at height, lifting operations, and confined spaces.
Qualifications & Experience
Mandatory
Diploma / Degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Naval Architecture Engineering.
Minimum 10–15 years’ experience in offshore / shipyard structural works.
At least 5 years as Hull / Structural Superintendent on jack-up rigs or offshore units.
Strong knowledge of jack-up structural systems and repair methodologies.
Technical Knowledge
Offshore structural standards and class rules (ABS / DNV / LR).
Structural steel grades, welding procedures, and distortion control.
NDT requirements and structural integrity assessments.
Skills & Competencies
Strong leadership and supervision capabilities.
Ability to manage multiple work fronts under tight dry-dock schedules.
Excellent coordination and stakeholder management skills.
Practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
Working Conditions
Shipyard and onboard jack-up rig environment.
Extended working hours during critical repair phases.
