Role Summary
The Process & Quality Engineer is responsible for developing, improving, and controlling manufacturing processes to ensure consistent product quality, efficiency, and compliance with internal and external standards. This role works closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to drive continuous improvement, reduce defects, and optimize manufacturing performance.
Key Responsibilities
Process Engineering
Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve yield, efficiency, and cost
Analyze production data to identify process gaps, root causes, and improvement opportunities
Lead process validation, capability studies (Cp, Cpk), and cycle time analysis
Support new product introduction (NPI), process transfers, and line ramp-up activities
Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and SOPs
Quality Engineering
Establish and maintain quality control plans, inspection standards, and acceptance criteria
Conduct root cause analysis using tools such as 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Whys
Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address quality issues
Monitor and analyze quality KPIs including defect rates, scrap, rework, and customer complaints
Support internal and external audits (ISO, customer, regulatory)
Supplier & Customer Quality
Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve incoming material quality
Support customer quality concerns, investigations, and corrective action responses
Participate in supplier audits and qualification activities
Continuous Improvement
Lead or support Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives
Implement poka-yoke, SPC, and mistake-proofing solutions
Drive cost reduction, productivity improvement, and waste elimination projects
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, or related discipline)
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is highly desirable
2–5 years of experience in process and/or quality engineering within a manufacturing environment
Experience with quality systems such as ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 / ISO 13485 (depending on industry)
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control methods
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
Proficient in data analysis and engineering documentation
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration
Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset
