Driven by strong international demand and rapid global sales growth, we are seeking a highly capable and experienced General Manager to lead the organisation through its next phase of expansion.

Position Summary

The General Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership, operational excellence, and strategic development of the company. This role will establish robust corporate systems, processes, and organisational structures to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability, while laying a strong foundation for long-term growth.

The successful candidate will mentor and develop leaders across all functional groups, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture. You will oversee day-to-day operations, resolve operational and organisational issues, and ensure the company consistently delivers high-quality laser and optical systems to international customers on time and to specification.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and direction for the company, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and long-term strategy

• Establish and strengthen organisational systems, processes, and governance in line with established corporate best practices

• Mentor, develop, and align functional leaders to operate as a cohesive, results-driven management team

• Drive operational excellence in manufacturing, ensuring on-time delivery, high quality standards, and continuous improvement

• Oversee and resolve day-to-day operational and organisational issues with support from internal teams

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, suppliers, and other external stakeholders

• Support the sales and marketing teams in securing international orders by providing technical, operational, and strategic leadership

• Promote and continuously improve workplace safety, operational discipline, and staff well-being

• Travel internationally as required to work with overseas divisions, customers, and partners

Requirements

• Extensive experience in a senior management or general management role within a manufacturing environment

• Proven track record in establishing, managing, and scaling a manufacturing organisation

• Strong understanding of organisational structures, functional integration, and performance management

• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders

• Experience working with international teams and customers

• Willingness and ability to travel overseas for short assignments

• Strong commitment to workplace safety, continuous improvement, and employee development
